Beni Shoga Fried Kakinotane
Product Description
This flavorful fried kakinotane features an unusual flavor: beni shoga (pickled ginger)! Beni Shoga is a popular side dish in Japan. Its vivid red color comes from umezu, which is used in making umeboshi and adds a sour note to the warm bite of ginger. On the package is a photo of the Osaka specialty that inspired this snack: Beni Shoga Tempura! It’s rarely found outside of Osaka and is very popular during festivals (because who doesn’t love fried festival food?). The fluffy crunchy texture and sour ginger flavor makes this snack a fun and adventurous addition to our Fireworks Festival Bokksu!
Featured in August ‘19 Bokksu: Firework Festival.
