Tokyo Apple Butter Financier Cake
Product Description
Tokyo’s baking scene is known for innovative desserts, often adding a Japanese spin on French classics. A financier is a classic French cake made with almond flour that’s baked in a small mold and flavored with beurre noisette (brown butter). This adorable bite-sized cake is shaped like an apple, giving you a visual hint at its flavor. Domestically-grown Japanese apples are cooked down to make the apple butter that replaces the traditional beurre noisette. This cake stays wonderfully moist thanks to the almond flour and apple butter, but still has the crisp exterior traditional to financier cakes.
Featured in May '19 Bokksu: Tour of Japan, October '18 Bokksu: Halloween Harvest.
