Chocolate Azuki Beans: Uji Matcha (8 Pieces)
Product Description
Magic beans don’t just exist in fairytales. The finest red beans are first sourced from the fertile Tokachi area of Hokkaido and made into amanatto using a traditional process. They are then dipped in white chocolate and coated with Kyoto's famous Uji Matcha powder, which transforms the beans into this dreamy, creamy confection.
Amanatto is traditionally made by dipping an azuki bean into refined sugar and drying it. Originally created in the late 1800s, the store of its origin, Eitaro, is still open for business in Tokyo today!
Featured in November '19 Bokksu: Autumn in Kyoto, June '19 Bokksu: Traditional Flavors of Japan, May '18 Bokksu: All Stars, December '17 Bokksu: Modern Kyoto.
