Aomori Apple Caramel Yakkoi Sable
Product Description
This cookie is called yakkoi sabure, which means “chewy sable” in Japanese. Sable is originally a French butter cookie that is usually crisp and has a slight snap when it breaks. The addition of deliciously sweet apple-caramel butter to the mix gives this cookie a soft and chewy texture. This cookie uses apples exclusively from Aomori, which is the highest apple-producing region in Japan, affectionately nicknamed “Apple Prefecture”. Soft and sweet without being overpowering, this cookie is even more delicious when paired with a warm cup of tea.
Featured in May '19 Bokksu: Tour of Japan, October '18 Bokksu: Halloween Harvest.
